Cal McNair has single handedly taken a team with at least some potential to one of the worst in the NFL. We had JJ Watt, Deshaun Watson, Deandre Hopkins, and Jadeveon Clowney. Now obviously we cannot blame him for the Deshaun Watson incident because he really has no control over that. But every other decision is one hundred percent his fault. It all started when daddy’s boy Cal decided to name Bill O’Brien the general manager as well as him already being coach. Just as a frame of reference, do you want to guess the only other coach who is also a GM in the NFL? That’s right, 6-time Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichick. What could go wrong? Well just in case you weren’t watching the Texans this year, everything went wrong. Bill O’Brien ruined our entire team and future. He traded away star players for next to nothing and absolutely screwed up our draft picks for years to come. He traded away Deandre Hopkins and a fourth-round pick in the 2020 Draft for David Johnson, a 2020 second round pick, and a 2021 fourth round pick. If you put that trade into any Madden Franchise simulation, they will not let you make it because it is so bad. So basically, even a 12-year-old would not be able to make that trade in a video game. Knowing Cal’s past, I’m surprised he didn’t even put it in the Madden simulation (https://texanswire.usatoday.com/2021/02/26/former-texans-sage-rosenfels-funny-story-cal-mcnair/). But enough about my hate for Bill O’Brien, we’re talking about Cal here!
One of the worst decisions he ever made was hiring Jack Easterby. For those of you who don’t know, Jack Easterby was the character coach and team chaplain for the New England Patriots. He had zero experience working in an NFL front office, but what did our boy Cal do? Gave him one of the most important jobs within the organization, vice president of football operations. The patriots are even quoted saying that he “isn’t a personnel guy.” Easterby had a large role in that Deandre Hopkins trade and has made many stupid decisions since being in charge. He chooses players based off their religious beliefs and their character than what they do on the field. That’s great when you’re running a third-grade soccer team Jack, but this is the NFL. On top of all of that, if you listen to him “preaching” it makes no sense and is extremely boring. This guy isn’t even good at his real job. The fact he has a job in an NFL office really makes you wonder what Cal has “confessed” to him in their long deep discussions. But finally, we had some hope. Cal fired Bill O’Brien 4 games into the season and us Texans fans thought we finally were going to clean house with everyone in the front office. We were wrong. Jack got to stay while nearly everyone else was given the boot. Even the media does not like Easterby. Many media outlets were wondering why he is still around, often saying he makes other employees uncomfortable and other employees simply saying he cannot do the job. Do you want to guess what Cal’s response was? “You don’t know Jack like I do.” I mean what the hell kind of dirt does Easterby have on McNair? But Cal thinks everyone else is wrong about Jack and that he is the only one who can see his true potential, just like everyone was wrong about Bill O’Brien. Not a single decision since Cal has taken over as owner has been a good one. Almost every decision he has made has been all over the media and continues to embarrass our fanbase and players. If you look on Twitter today, there is a video of our crowd at the game. There is no one in the stands but the lower bowl. I hope fans stop buying tickets and hit Cal in his pockets, so that he has to do something. I think this is the best way to show Cal we aren't going to support his antics anymore. I just pray that one day Cal will sell this team and finally make Texans fans happy again. Who would he sell the team to? Us Texans fan would literally take about anyone at this point. Do the right thing and sell the team Cal.
